Improving Delivery for Clients and Partners
At APS we are being asked what is the success to our delivery and hitting the ground running so quickly. A few simple steps we take early into the engagement are:
Understand the key stakeholders (across all parties)
- We map out the stakeholders and document these as part of our governance, noting roles, business areas and governance meeting attendance.
Review the client change framework
- Understand what governance and framework APS are delivering. Most organisations have similar change delivery frameworks but speaking the same language within the organisation definitely helps.
Communication
- It sounds simple but the amount of times I’ve been told by clients that people don’t talk to each other is a little disheartening. If the people you need to engage with and discuss are in the same building, take the time to meet them and not just via email or conference call.
Don’t forget the business
- All projects will impact the business and the majority of IT projects unfortunately do not engage the business early enough to gain buy in and support. Understand the key business priorities and work closely with them throughout the project.
Finally and very importantly, all APS consultants are inducted before landing onto client site. They are given an induction pack including all relevant details they will require to enable them to be productive from day 1 so the client is seeing immediate value from APS. Our consultants have an understanding of the organisation before starting to get them upto speed much quicker.
Its simple but is often communicated to APS from our clients as a differentiator to other consultancies our clients work with.
